As the unframed examples had not been given an order by Ruskin, they have been given arbitrary accession numbers based upon their position in Cook and Wedderburn's list of the unframed objects (XXI.308) for the purposes of the current catalogue.
The Dürers may have been the following, transferred from the Ruskin Drawing School in the 1960s: "The Agony in the Garden", engraving, 1508 (Engraved Passion, no. 2): Schoch-Mende-Scherbaum no. 46, Meder no. 4 "The Betrayal of Christ", engraving, 1508 (Engraved Passion, no. 3): Schoch-Mende-Scherbaum no. 47, Meder no. 5 "Christ before Caiaphas", engraving, 1508 (Engraved Passion, no. 4): Schoch-Mende-Scherbaum no. 48, Meder no. 6 "Christ on the Cross", engraving, 1508: Schoch-Mende-Scherbaum no. 61, Meder no. 23 "The Virgin on the Crescent Moon with a Diadem", engraving, 1514: Schoch-Mende-Scherbaum no. 72, Meder no. 35 "Sheet of Studies with Five Figures (The Desperate Man)", etching on iron plate, c.1515: Schoch-Mende-Scherbaum no. 79, Meder no. 95 (this has on its verso a weak impression of "The Sudarium, held by an Angel", etching on iron plate, 1516: Schoch-Mende-Scherbaum no. 82, Meder no. 27) "The Agony in the Garden", woodcut, c.1510 (Lesser Passion, no. 11): Schoch-Mende-Scherbaum no. 196, Meder no. 135 "Christ appearing to the Magdalene", woodcut, c.1510 (Lesser Passion, no. 32): Schoch-Mende-Scherbaum no. 217, Meder no. 156
Of these, the first five have the mount with the double black border found on many of the other Dürer engravings in the collection.
