Items marked 'M' are drawings "by my own Hand" (by Ruskin), P are photographs, E engravings and A by Ruskin's Assistant, Arthur Burgess.
This particular impression was catalogued in the Rudimentary Series in 1872 and 1873, and so it cannot have been the same as Educational Series no. 139, catalogued in 1871 and 1874. However, as this impression is missing, it is represented here by an image of Educational Series no. 139, which is of the second state listed by Finberg.
